"Accept all the colours of the rainbow into your emotional life."

Feel your Feelings!

What is going on with the 'lightworker' movement these days?

Some have joined the mainstream view that one should keep certain feelings out of sight. First the doctors were fixing the 'problem' of feelings with anti-depressants, now the lightworkers have joined the band wagon with their own version of supression. It seems you can't even express your honest opinion or true feelings anymore without someone telling you to 'release' it and rise above and to get with 'the love'. Hey, I am all for getting with the love. I believe at the heart of it all George Bush is one of our greatest love teachers right now, living out some major inner child issues for all to see. We've all been there only we didn't have to overtake, i mean liberate, a country to get dad's approval. Send the boy some love. The war in Iraq too. It will go down in love history as one of the greatest people awakeners of our time along with September 11. But while I'm feeling the love, I'm feeling lots of other stuff too. What happened to feeling ALL of your feelings, and that being OK without someone quickly moving in to help you 'fix it' or analyse it to death until you've sucked all the juice out of it? Or my favourite - disregarding it as being a 'low' emotion that is no longer lightpolitics correct. I thought all was light, or are we now telling the Source which emotions we approve of? What happened to honouring all parts of yourself? How are we going to realise our wholeness if we are going around repressing and denying those parts of ourselves we think are not 'lightworthy'? Love has many faces. Is anger not love, showing us it's time to do something different? Is frustration not love showing us we are ready to birth something new? These feelings can be major life shifters!

I'm not saying to sit in these feelings forever and drink yourself to oblivion. I'm also not advocating going to a peace rally with a sack full of war-like rage in your backpack that you then throw at the nearest politician. And that's the whole point - if we actually felt we were allowed to feel and express our feelings, we would more likely do it in healthy and productive ways, and not resort to ultimately self-destructive behaviour. As a society, do we not feel we have that freedom? Or do we feel even if we do feel and express, who will listen?

Feel your feelings and embrace them. Accept all the colours of the rainbow into your emotional life. Feelings are some of the greatest teachers you'll ever have. They carry the messages of your soul. They tell you that you are an alive, passionate being. Allow others their feelings too by listening to whatever it is they need to express.

Long Live Feelings!!
