21 July 2005: Carry on as normal!?

Prime Minister Tony Blair has urged the people of London to carry on as normal in the aftermath of another round of 'serious incidents' today. That's right people. Don't question. Don't think. Don't take a few minutes to stop and ask what is going on. Don't demand to know why is it going on. Don't wonder if these events might possibly be connected to the tens of thousands of Iraqi people that have been killed and injured and continue to be daily. Don't spare a thought for those who have to face this kind of thing every day thanks to the Blair/Bush terror campaign. Just go about your day. Keep on that treadmill. Stay in the comfort zone of the dumbed down mass media. Or...wake up!!

London: What Really Happened?

An open invitation to the mainstream media: Anytime you are ready to start practicing some investigative journalism would be great. If you start now that would be really fantastic. Either you can't see the wide gaping holes in the stories you are asking people to believe or you are too scared to dig a little deeper for fear of losing your job or reputation. For the sake of humanity please do what I know most of you chose journalism to do: ask questions, find the truth, empower your readers & viewers, and make a positive contribution to the world's direction.

Lest We Forget; These were Blair's Bombs - John Pilger in TruthOut..Excerpts following:

"Over the past two weeks, the contrast between the coverage of the G8, its marches and pop concerts, and another "global" event has been striking. The World Tribunal on Iraq in Istanbul has had virtually no coverage...Its expert, eyewitness testimonies, said the author Arundathi Roy, a tribunal jury member, "demonstrate that even those of us who have tried to follow the war closely are not aware of a fraction of the horrors that have been unleashed in Iraq."....when will someone in the political class say that Blair's smoke-and-mirrors "debt cancellation" at best amounts to less than the money the government spent in a week brutalising Iraq, where British and American violence is the cause of the doubling of child poverty and malnutrition since Saddam Hussein was overthrown (Unicef)."

London United Supported by the World 14 July 2005:

London united today in 2 minutes of silence at Noon. People emerged out of offices and shops, cabs, cars and buses came to a stop and those on the tube took time to remember the events of last Thursday and pay their respects to those who lost their lives, those who were injured, and their families. Thousands around the world also showed their solidarity and respect at the same time. Humanity are showing what we are truly made of: inner strength, connection to our global family, and a deep desire for peace.

7 July 2005:

Amidst the chaos there is a very calm feeling over London right now, kind of like everyone is immersed in a blanket of protection and love. Humanity's response to these events is increasingly becoming immediate compassion and care for the wellbeing of our fellow humans. So many around the world are sending healing energy and positive thoughts and you can really feel that. The energy in the air is different today, and the predominant feeling is one of unity and connection. Much love to all affected.
